Those looking for a cold brew and the chance to try something new can gather at the brewery to cast a vote for their favorite brews. FAMILY FUN AT SPIRIT LAKE

Saturday, May 22, 11am

This Saturday, Spirit Lake promises a full day of family fun with events including the Yak-Bassin Fishing Tournament, Cardboard Boat Regatta, and a chili cook-off hosted at the mill pond at Fireside Park! The Cardboard Boat Regatta, created to inspire “corrugated chaos from creativity and the spirit of competition,” invites locals to compete for bragging rights and trophy plaques in categories including best time, best team spirit and most spectacular sinking. Be sure to arrive in clothes you don’t mind getting wet! Vendors will be lined up at the Little Park on 4th and Maine throughout the day. This event, sponsored by the Spirit Event Committee, will donate all proceeds to support the Empire Trails and Spirit Lake Park and Recs. Read more

LITEFEET DANCE COMPETITION AT NASHVILLE NORTH

Saturday, May 22, Noon - 6pm

Get ready to show off your best swing, team line and individual line-dancing skills this Saturday at the Nashville North! Trophies and cash prizes are available for grabs at the competition beginning at noon at State Line’s popular venue. Litefeet, a local dance company promoting connection through fitness, friendship and fun, provide the Nashville North’s regular dance classes and will be sponsoring the competition this Saturday. MARK NORMAND AT THE SPOKANE COMEDY CLUB

Next Thursday through Sunday, the Spokane Comedy Club hosts Mark Normand, a New York-based stand-up comedian who has been featured on multiple talk shows and podcasts hosted by big names like Amy Schumer and Ari Shaffir. This special event offers multiple show times each day throughout Normand’s stay. Ticket pricing is more expensive at the door, so be sure to buy tickets early and online.
