Celebrate the arts and those who have contributed to the arts in our area by attending a concert, theatre production or an art exhibit. Here are a few events that are sure to soothe your spirit and soul: Fireside Music Series at Arbor Crest, Michael Horswill and Allie Kurtz Vogt Exhibit at The Art Spirit Gallery, Downtown Coeur d'Alene Artwalk, the Mayor's Awards in the Arts at the Hagadone Event Center, Chinese Lantern Festival at Riverfront Park, Steve Gibbs Fundraiser at The Rocker Room, Cowboy Supper Show at Rockin' B Ranch, Brad and Viktor Uzur in Concert at Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center's Celebration Hall, Rosin Cello Duo at the Bing Crosby Theater, and Art from the Heart: Art in the Making at Coeur d'Alene Plaza Shops. OPENING RECEPTION Fri. Oct. 14, 5pm Join The Art Spirit Gallery as they celebrate 64 new works by two well-known regional artists, Michael Horswill and Allie Kurtz Vogt. Meet the featured artists and enjoy a lively evening of fine art, fine dining and good friends. Read more

STEVE GIBBS FUNDRAISER Sat. Oct. 15, 9pm Steve Gibbs, beloved owner/curator of The Art Spirit Gallery, has recently been diagnosed with ALS. Steve loves to dance and wants to have a rockin’ night celebrating life, so join him to dance the night away to music by The Rub, all to help support Steve. Read more

ART IN THE MAKING Sat. Oct. 15, 1pm October is national Arts and Humanities Month. See Art in the Making at the Atrium in the Coeur d’Alene Plaza Shops, where you can watch regional artists draw, paint and sculpt from two live models, accompanied by live music. Read more

CHINESE LANTERN FESTIVAL Now - Oct. 30 This six-week celebration of Chinese culture features more than just lights. Enjoy performances, such as Wushi, contortionists and acrobatics, kids activities like storytelling and lantern painting, hands-on activities and food. Read more
