It’s been more than two decades since friends and owners John Grollmus and Brad Fosseen opened the doors to The Elk Public House in Browne’s Addition. All these years later, and despite the hurdles 2020 and early 2021 brought to the restaurant industry, The Elk remains a staple in the Spokane community that diners continue to flock to.

With a long-standing reputation for delicious food and top-notch service, the staff at The Elk is sure to meet—if not exceed—your expectations each and every time you take a seat at one of their tables. Guests, both young and young at heart, continue to fill the seats and show their unwavering support to John, Brad and their dedicated team. “The Elk appeals to anyone and everyone,” says John. “And we strive to serve our guests the best—every time.”

Consistently good food and atmosphere along with friendly service and menu items offered at a reasonable price keep diners coming back for more. And whether it’s your first date or 50th anniversary, The Elk Public House will treat you to an experience that won’t soon be forgotten. This is what The Elk has delivered year after year to guests since opening its doors in 1999.

Menu favorites among guests include the ever-popular Reuben, the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich, Mediterranean Grilled Lamb Sandwich and legendary Roasted Corn Pasta. You can also choose from their creative weekly specials and homemade soups, inventive cocktails and great brews.

Spokane’s South Hill neighborhood was in for a treat when the restaurant duo decided to expand their restaurant family to include Two Seven Public House. Opening to an eager community in April of 2008, it quickly gained the status as one of Spokane’s best-kept secrets. Now in its 14th year, the restaurant continues to fulfill its reputation for great food, great drinks and stellar service.

Here you can choose from their inventive house-made soups and weekly specials, as well as customer favorite menu items like the Salpicon Texas Shredded Beef Tacos, the famous Smash Burger, Crispy Beer-Battered Fish Tacos—and you cannot forget that infamous Roasted Corn Pasta.

Maintaining consistency, quality and low employee turnover ensures guests the best each time they visit The Elk and Two Seven. In addition, the staff is willing to adapt when needed, all while keeping what people love consistent.

“We have always tried hard to be open and available to provide for our guests seven days a week, 363 days a year. We remain dedicated to doing whatever we can to serve our guests.”

John and Brad are proud to provide the community with great food while also affording them the opportunity to create great jobs for their employees—which is why you will see the same friendly faces paired with exceptional service every time you visit.

Whether you’re looking for a place to take the whole family or just a great spot to unwind with a cold brew and a bite, check out The Elk Public House in Browne’s Addition or Two Seven in Spokane’s South Hill, where the owners care for their staff, and the staff is honored to dish up excellence to the community they serve.
