North Bank Grand Opening

Friday, May 21, marks the Grand Opening of North Bank at Riverfront Park! Following the virtual ribbon cutting at 11am, the grand opening festivities will continue from noon to 4pm, showcasing the variety of amenities offered by this new park addition.

The North Bank features something for everyone: children, adults, skaters, climbers, athletes and more. Its new Ice Age Floods-themed playground will allow visitors to learn about the events that shaped our region’s geography while they enjoy a three-story slide tower, splash pad, fossil dig, and more adventures, for a park totaling 40,000 square feet in area.

Skaters can enjoy the new Skate and Wheels Park, designed with input from the public to include street features, a flat bar and multiple wall rides, while basketball fans can enjoy the Hooptown USA Basketball Courts, available for flexible use. The Roskelley Performance Climbing Boulder, founded by the Jess Roskelley Foundation, preserves the Spokane climber’s memory while offering a place for both novice and experienced climbers to try bouldering or practice their skills.

In addition to the numerous new activities promised by the addition of North Bank, it will offer parking, restrooms and picnic shelters for public use. Opening just in time for summer’s arrival, the North Bank is sure to bring more life to Spokane’s Riverfront Park this year.
